Coming back to work after a holiday is always a slightly sad time. This year I was astonished at the amount of thank you cards on display, more than I seemed to remember.

I always mean to share these comments, a lovely job, but one that slips down the list of priorities.

There is a mix of comments from parents and children. I really treasure the comments from pupils, younger and older, after all we’re told children are a tough audience!

To Simon, Thank you for all you have done this year. You bring out the best in your students and make learning seem easy. Hope to see you when I’m doing my A levels.

To Simon, Thank you so much for all the help you have given me, from passing the 11+ to feeling confident in my GCSE’s.

You always understood how my brain saw maths and how to help me in a way no other teacher has. I’ve actually enjoyed coming to Kip and doing extra maths and I think I’m going to miss it. I don’t think my 10-year old self would have thought it possible to miss maths! Thank you for all your support, Love Phoebe x

A follow up email came in August……

Hi Simon!

I GOT AN A IN MATHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOO

and I got a B in Statistics! I am soooo Happy! Thank you so much for everything!!

Overall, I got 5/6 A*s (if you accept that Media is a double, its 6), and 5 A’s and 2 Bs in stats and French.

Thank you for all your help, and in English too. I got A* for lang and an A in lit, which I am slightly disappointed by because my coursework was so good, but I am happy with an A.

Thank you so much!

Phoebe X

Dear Sally and Simon

A big thank you to both for all your care, Simon’s brilliant encouragement, and Sally your great cajoling. As N would say “I can ask Simon anything, no matter how silly”

I know that Harry and Natasha would not have achieved what they have without your support.
