A blog article from Clare and Gareth Powell of Kip McGrath Scunthorpe about Michael Gove’s view of school governors.

It was interesting to see that he then stated that he was only talking about a minority when he claimed governors to be “local worthies” who didn’t care about the school and it’s pupils and saw it as a “badge of status” He clarified by stating “Discussions that ramble on about peripheral issues, influenced by fads and anecdote, not facts and analysis. A failure to be rigorous about performance.”
It was obviously let down by his own anecdotal evidence that governors are “local worthies”
Again a common thread of Michael Gove, let’s hold education and schools to a higher criteria that he himself cannot match.
